I was trying to install GoPro Player on my computer then it asked me to install HEVCV Codec and it was somehow annoyed to me how to get it downloaded and installed.
GoPro Player requires a device that’s HEVC-compatible to play HEVC videos. HEVC is a video codec that allows you to save on bitrate while maintaining high resolution. GoPro cameras record videos in HEVC and MP4 formats, and when you use an HEVC video setting, your camera will notify you if your device isn’t HEVC-compatible.
I downloaded the GoPro Player in my Windows10 PC and when I open .360 file I get the message below “the computer does not have the hardware decoder HEVC to read this file… you can buy it from Microsoft.
Probably you will get such message too, that says:
No HEVC Hardware Decoder… Your graphics device does not support HEVC video hardware decoding. You may experience poor playback performance. We recommend using a graphics device with HEVC video support.
